Our Ministries - Get Involved!

Calvary Kids

Calvary Kids is an alternative to Wednesday night Bible study for children of all ages.  Children are released from adult Bible study usually just prior to the adult study beginning.  Kids are led by  loving and experienced adult Christian leaders who, through Bible teachings, crafts, or indoor/outdoor activities teach children Bible lessons that they can apply to their lives.  Snacks are often served prior to or immediately following services.  Please know that we count it a real privilege to minister to your children.  Keep in mind that if you prefer that your child to remain with you during Bible study, that will be just fine!  There is absolutely no requirement for your child to participate with Calvary Kids or be separated from you.  As a matter of fact if you prefer to check out Calvary Kids Church for yourself we certainly understand.  Feel free to attend Calvary Kids with your child for part or all of a service.  We believe that Church should be a place where all family members, regardless of age, can come and enjoy learning about Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him!

Sunday School

Calvary Baptist Church Sunday School begins at 10:05 am each Sunday.  We begin Sunday School by meeting together in the Sanctuary.  We'll pray together and then dismiss to individual Sunday School classes.  Sunday School classes are held for all age groups, so everyone in the family is encouraged to attend.  Ladies meet in the fellowship hall while the men meet in the sanctuary.  Children meet in the Sunday School Building.  Sunday School is a great place to gain additional knowledge and understanding of God's Word while fellowshipping with like-minded Christians.  We utilize a curriculum, Bible study aids, and lessons developed specifically to support spiritual growth. You'll find than not only will you grow closer to Him but you can also develop meaningful relationships with God's people while you learn and fellowship in a small group environment.  If you need a ride to Sunday School we'd be glad to assist you.  Call us at 606-240-0339.

Community Outreach

Calvary Baptist Church exists to minister to the disciples of Christ at Calvary Baptist Church as well as to those in the communities of Chapman, Gallup, Torchlight and beyond. We believe God has ordained us to  spread the Gospel to those in our community as well as to provide encouragement, support and/or prayer to those in need.  This includes a healthy visitation program which includes visiting the sick, elderly, home bound, hospitalized, those in nursing homes, etc.  Men and women of our Church find it a blessing to visit within our community and beyond on a regular basis. If you would like to request a personal visit or know of someone in need of a visit, encouragement, salvation or other need please contact our pastor

Calvary CARES

Calvary Baptist Church believes that God is Love and that as Christians we are expected to ensure those around us can experience His Love through us.  Calvary CARES (Christians with an Appetite and Responsibility to Encourage and Serve) was founded in 2017 to deliver fresh meals to those in our Community who wish to receive them.  If you'd like to receive free meals or support this ministry please call 606-240-0339.  Hot meals are prepared and delivered with love by our Church membership to your door at no charge.

Encouragers for Christ

Our newest ministry, which is still under development, will be centered on encouraging Christians to continue to be faithful in their journey in this world with Jesus Christ as we serve Him together.  Our pastor has a burden to encourage fellow laborers in Christ to look to Christ and remain faithful to Him.
We all experience different struggles in this life.  As Christians, we can and should experience the peace, love and joy of Christ and when we fellowship with Him and His people we should receive encouragement from Him and one another.  It is so important in today's world that we be there for each other and provide Godly encouragement, that peace, love and joy of Christ that emulates through us as His children.  That's one of the reasons we attend Church, after all.
We know, and the Bible tells us, that we all will experience seasons of sorrow, sickness, pain, hurt, trouble, and temptation in this life.  During these times,  we can encourage one another in Jesus Christ, and even more so!  We believe Godly encouragement is essential to maintaining a clear focus on the Cross, providing a positive atmosphere in a negative world, and demonstrates our dedication to God to be there for one another.  Christian encouragement often allows us to see Christ through the fog of this world, and  know He is there, when we may feel all is lost.
God knows everything we are going through, He cares for us, He loves us like no other could ever love us - and as children of the King we should remind each other of that love as often as we can.  Will you be an encourager for Christ?

Calvary Cupboard

Calvary Cupboard is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church that collects non-perishable food items to deliver to those in need.  This includes delivering food baskets during the Thanksgiving Holiday.  If you know of someone in need and/or would like to support this ministry, please call 606-240-0339.

Prayer

Organized prayer meetings are held on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM, prior to mid-week Bible Study.  Prayer is our ability to communicate directly with our Lord Jesus Christ.  Prayer can take place anywhere you are!  We welcome prayer requests from our Church, community, and others.  We pray for salvation, witness, needs, leadership, guidance, direction as well as knowledge and understand of what God has for us individually, as a Church, family, and Nation.  We pray for healing of the sick, both physically and spiritually.  If you have a prayer request and cannot attend our services, please submit it via our contact page or call 606-240-0339.

Music

Calvary Baptist Church strongly supports ministering to God's people and the world through the ministry of music and song.  We have Choir practice on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm.  But if you don't practice with the Choir, you are welcome to sing with the Choir on Sunday mornings.  Also, we host many gospel singing services throughout the year.  Many church members support this ministry through their own song and/or music.  Anyone, including visitors, are welcome to sing at our services as long as the song/music is Christian and of good taste, glorifying God.

Local and World Missions

In following the example of the local New Testament Church, Calvary Baptist Church supports both local and world-wide missions for the furtherance of the Gospel. Locally, mission work may be in the form of visiting the lost or needy, fervent prayer, or providing labor, gifts, and/or finances as needed.  We also enjoy ministering to those in hospitals, nursing homes and others who may be shut-in or otherwise have a need.  If you or someone you know has a need or would like a visit from someone from our Church, please feel free to contact us.

Calvary Baptist Church also believes that we should support missionaries who are called of God to go forth and, "...teach all nations... " (Matt 28:19). We support missionaries in the United States and around the world through both fervent prayer and finances. You can click on our Missionaries page to view the missionaries we support.
